Win Goes to Rapids in Tight Contest
The Sault Ste. Marie Rapids knocked off the Thessalon North Stars, 8-6, in 10 innings at North Stars Stadium. Pitágoras Oliva hit 2 singles and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. The loss drops Thessalon to 13-12.

Sault Ste. Marie used a timely hit from Luis Amaya to get the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rapids ahead, 8-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Oliva told a local reporter: "My job is to go out and play as hard as I can."
