Led by Yoshiyau Fuse, the Takasaki Sakura downed the Morioka Ayame, 12-10, in 11 innings. Fuse belted 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for the Sakura. Cristón Cantú sewed up the save, his 1st. The Northern League-leading Sakura are 27-18.

Takasaki used the timely hitting of Takahiro Takemura to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a 2-run single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Sakura on top, 12-10. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Morioka manager George Fields.
