With designated hitter Crispín Rivera leading the charge, the Thurso Bucherons defeated the Laval Insulaires, 9-6, at Insulaires Field. Rivera, who is tied for 10th in the LBQ with a .377 on-base percentage, was 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. At 29-19, the Bucherons are currently first in the Ligue du Baseball du Quebec Division Ouest.

Aurelio Martínez, who is tied for 7th in the LBQ in total bases with 84, took Laval hurler Henry Wilkes deep in the top of the fourth. His 3-run home run put the Bucherons on top, 7-4. In all, Martínez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 3.

"We came out aggressive," said Bucherons manager Joey Stockman. "We came out swinging the bats."
