|
Morioka got a strong outing from Seijun Kondo as the Ayame defeated the Hakodate Daiouika, 1-0, at Ayame Park. In 8.2 innings, Kondo surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 3. He allowed no runs. Masuto Matsui earned the save for Morioka, his 9th.
The Ayame got a big at-bat from shortstop Aimón Monterrey. For the game, Monterrey went 1 for 4 with a double. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 20th double of the season gave Morioka a 1-0 lead.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Kondo said.
