In the 3-2 Thurso win over Lachute, the impact of Ofelio Martínez was substantial. Martínez went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The first-place Bucherons have a one-game lead in their division.

Martínez had a game-changing home run in the top of the 13th. On a first pitch curveball from Ignacio Vegas, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Bucherons a 3-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Martínez.

"It was a test of wills," said Joey Stockman, the Thurso skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
