Townsend Lays Hammer Down in 2-0 Win
The Gatineau Draveurs topped the Thurso Bucherons, 2-0, in Ligue du Baseball du Quebec action at Ballpark of Gatineau. The standout performance belonged to Gatineau pitcher and Montreal, Canada, native Ed Townsend. Antenor Guzmán, who is tied for 3rd in the LBQ in saves with 8, earned the save for Gatineau. The Draveurs now have a mark of 40-32.

Thurso could barely put a dent in Townsend. The right-hander tossed 131 pitches over 8.2 innings for the Draveurs, allowing only 5 hits.

"Hats off to Ed," said Gatineau manager Keith Reed. "He was good."
