Conditions were not ideal but Sabae and Morioka were able to put their game in the books.
The Sabae Megane-ten beat the Morioka Ayame, 6-2, at Megane-ten Grounds. Art Griggs, in particular, was impressive. He went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Picking up the win was Orlando Rocha. He went 8 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 2.
Morioka had a runner on 1st in the top of the seventh. With no one out, Satoru Fukui stood at the plate, hoping to find a gap. Instead, he lined out. The score remained 4-2, Sabae. The Ayame never could mount a comeback.
Their 42-51 record puts the Megane-ten 7th in the Northern League.
