Laval picked up a win at Insulaires Field, bumping off the Thurso Bucherons, 5-2. Pitcher Finley Ward was a major reason the Insulaires emerged victorious. Ward picked up the win for Laval, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 8-7. Padraig Leonard notched his 3rd save of the season.

Laval first baseman Cristóbal Delgado said the only thing on his mind when he came to bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the sixth was making good contact. He did that much, and more! Delgado hit a solo home run to stake Laval to a 3-2 lead. His 13th home run of the season came off Thurso pitcher Jeremy Zinck.

"I always go out there hoping to contribute," said Ward.

The Insulaires now have a mark of 38-50.
