|
Getting a good performance from designated hitter Raúl Núñez, the Hakodate Daiouika defeated the Kamakura Kodaibito, 7-3. Núñez went 2-3 with a home run and 2 walks. He scored 2 runs for the Daiouika. Crisanto Camacho, the winning pitcher, is now 18-12. He went 9 innings, allowing 3 runs on 12 hits, while fanning 3 and walking 1. Hakodate is now 50-58, while Kamakura is 59-47.
Hakodate used a timely hit from 36-year old first baseman Darío Garrido to get the win. The third baseman delivered a 2-run triple in the top of the seventh inning to put the Daiouika on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was huge.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Kamakura manager Álvaro López. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
