Win Goes to Sleeping Giants in Tight Contest
The Thunder Bay Sleeping Giants had to overcome a fine effort from Sault Ste. Marie pitcher Hernán Martínez to win, 4-3, at Rapids Park. Martínez went 10 innings and allowed 3 runs. The winner in relief was José Arredondo. The left-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.2 innings. He now owns a record of 2-3. With the win, Thunder Bay upped its record to 46-40.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Disibodo Torres? The 25-year old catcher Torres stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 12th inning to put Thunder Bay up, 4-3. For the game, he was 3 for 5, including 1 double and 2 singles.
