Magnets Best Trifluviens in Pitching Duel
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Moncton Magnets and the Trois-Rivieres Trifluviens, pitcher Agustín Aguirre was the difference between victory and defeat. The Moncton left-hander earned accolades for his stellar performance in the 2-1 Magnets win. Moncton, now 55-35, holds down first place in the Ligue du Baseball du Quebec Division Maritime.
Marcos Martínez had a direct impact on the outcome. Martínez contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Moncton up, 2-1.
"Good win for us," said Aguirre. "Now we'll focus on the next one."
