Wheelwrights Take Down Rapids, 6-5
The Markham Wheelwrights faced a tough opponent in Sault Ste. Marie pitcher Honorio Reyes, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Markham Stadium by a final score of 6-5. Reyes went 8.1 innings and allowed 4 runs. Marco Antonio Santana earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. The Wheelwrights now have a mark of 49-47.

The decisive blow was delivered in the bottom of the tenth when Dermott Richards hit a run-scoring double off 28-year old right-handed pitcher Gabriel Carrera to win the game for Markham. The home crowd went wild.

"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Richards.
