The Thunder Bay Sleeping Giants defeated the Sudbury Meteors, 7-3, in Ontario Baseball Association action at Sudbury Grounds. Thunder Bay pitcher Terry Seaman had a standout performance. Thunder Bay is third in the Ontario Baseball Association Ontario North with a record of 50-48.

The game was at a stalemate until right fielder Anaximandro Barajas came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Sudbury pitcher Luis Aguilar, he hit a 0-2 changeup for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Thunder Bay on top, 5-3.

"Glad to get this win," said Barajas. "But we need to keep playing at a high level."
