At Kawauso Stadium, the Matsuyama Kawauso and Fukuyama Komori were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The Fukuyama Komori knocked off the Matsuyama Kawauso, 5-1, in Southern League action at Kawauso Stadium. Fukuyama pitcher and Hachioji, Japan, native Takeo Kaneda had an outstanding performance. The Komori are now 65-56, while the Kawauso fall to 60-61.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Arnaldo Espinosa? The Fukuyama catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Komori on top, 4-0. For the game, Espinosa had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Espinosa. "It sure beats the alternative."
