Bonebreakers Handed 9-5 Defeat
The Markham Wheelwrights knocked off the Pickering Bonebreakers, 9-5, at Markham Stadium. Dave Lightheart was a big reason Markham won. The right fielder went 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Saturnín Hernández. He tossed 120 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. The setback makes Pickering 46-52.

Lightheart broke a deadlock in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a sacrifice fly, putting Markham up, 6-5.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Markham skipper Turlough Conner.
