Hakodate Upended, 5-1, by Fukushima

The rain came, as predicted, but the Fukushima Kamome and Hakodate Daiouika were able to complete their ballgame.
The Fukushima Kamome downed the Hakodate Daiouika, 5-1, at Kamome Ballpark. Stellar pitching by Kuranosuke Hori had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 5th in the NL in innings pitched with 259.2, handcuffed his opponent all game. In 9 innings, Hori surrendered 4 hits, while striking out 1 and walking 3. He allowed 1 run.
Marco Antonio Betancurt hit a 2-run triple off Ryu Nakamura in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Kamome in front, 2-0. In addition to the triple, Betancurt had 2 singles and 1 walk, while going 3 for 3.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Betancurt told the Fukushima Herald.
Fukushima is now 60-64, while Hakodate is 56-68.
