Good production from left fielder Pío Muñoz helped the Thessalon North Stars topple the Sault Ste. Marie Rapids, 8-7. Muñoz was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the North Stars. Thessalon reliever Ángel Aguilar picked up the win, raising his record to 8-6. Lynagh Whelan was tagged with the loss. The North Stars now have a mark of 59-45.

Quemado de Güines, Cuba native Pío Muñoz had a clutch at-bat in the bottom of the eighth for the North Stars. With Thessalon trailing 7-6, he hit a 2-run single.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Muñoz said.
