The Sudbury Meteors defeated the Thunder Bay Sleeping Giants, 6-5, at Sudbury Grounds. Leading the charge for Sudbury was first baseman Roberto Vázquez. He was 2-3 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The winning pitcher was 23-year old right-handed pitcher Luis Aguilar. He tossed 129 pitches over 8 innings, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits. Aldo Trujillo recorded the save, his 13th.

Vázquez broke a deadlock in the bottom of the sixth inning, when he hit a run-scoring single, putting Sudbury up, 6-5.

"We believe in ourselves and we're willing to work hard. It's a good combination," Vázquez told the Sudbury Gazette.
