The Nipissing Air Marshals had to overcome a big game from Thunder Bay center fielder Melquíades Ramos to leave Thunder Bay Grounds with a victory. And they did, winning, 7-6, in 10 innings. Ramos was 3 for 5 with a triple, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. The last-place Air Marshals sport a record of 34-73.

Cristóbal Gutiérrez's hit in the top of the tenth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a curveball from Édgar Martínez to left-center for a run-scoring single. It put Nipissing in front, 7-6.

"Our guys refused to lose," said Gutiérrez.
