Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Markham Wheelwrights and Thunder Bay Sleeping Giants.

The Markham Wheelwrights topped the Thunder Bay Sleeping Giants, 4-2, in Ontario Baseball Association action at Thunder Bay Grounds. The game was highlighted by the performance of Markham pitcher Wade Allen. Ismael Galan earned the save for Markham, his 9th of the year.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Raúl Arriola? The 21-year old second baseman Arriola stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put Markham up, 4-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.

"Whenever I help the team," said Arriola, "it sort of justifies my place on the roster."

The Wheelwrights improved their record to 50-59 with the win over Thunder Bay.
