Critical Game 5 Goes to Host Cordwainers, 2-1
The Auburn Cordwainers have a critical edge over the Brattleboro Melodeons in the Pennant Championship Series, thanks to the veteran arm of Andrónico Cantú.

Cantú, 35, put on a dominant performance at The Shoebox, leading the Cordwainers to victory, 2-1, in a pivotal Game 5. Auburn is now one game away from the Championship of New England, leading the best-of-7 series by a margin of 3-2. Brattleboro will need to win both remaining games to advance.

Emanuel Aragón was the walk-off hero for Auburn. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Cordwainers shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Cantú said after the game.

The next game is set to be played for Tuesday, September 7th , 1915 at Harmonious Grounds in Brattleboro.
