The Nipissing Air Marshals withstood a fine game by Sault Ste. Marie shortstop Príamo Rivera at Air Marshals Park, to upend the Rapids, 7-6. Rivera was 4 for 5 with a home run and 2 triples, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 5. Nipissing pitcher Jonás Díaz earned the win, hiking his record to 3-5. Hernán Martínez suffered the loss. Nipissing, with the win, is 37-78.

The decisive blow was delivered by Doroteo Magaña in the bottom of the ninth when he hit a solo home run off 27-year old right-handed pitcher Hernán Martínez to win the game for Nipissing. The home crowd went nuts.

"We need to get rid of the bad mojo," said Magaña. "Maybe this win will help."
