The Guatire Heroes defeated the Cumana Atunes, 4-3, in Game 2 of the Serie Eliminatoria. Doing his part was starter Eliezer Rivera, who threw 8.0 innings allowing 3 runs. The win moves Guatire into a 2-0 lead in the series.

Barinas, Venezuela-born Jorge Pérez came through in the clutch. In the top of the ninth, with the bases loaded and the Heroes trailing 3-2, he hit a 2-run single to left-center to put Guatire on top.

"There's a lot in this game you can't control. Just take what the game gives you. I was just doing my best to help the team win," Rivera told the Guatire News.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Parque de Cumana in Cumana.
