Riding the 2-hit performance of the 22-year old right fielder Dave Lightheart, the Markham Wheelwrights defeated the Kitchener Wild Pigeons, 7-2. Marco Antonio Santana picked up the win in relief. Lisandro Acevedo took the loss for Kitchener. With the win, Markham raised its record to 63-56.

Lightheart had a game-changing double in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch sinker from Lisandro Acevedo, he banged a bases-clearing double to right, giving the Wheelwrights a 5-2 lead. It was the 14th double of the year for Lightheart.

Said losing manager Ralph Ham: "We just didn't get it done tonight."
