Rapids Lose at Home, 12-9, to Thessalon
Thessalon defeated Sault Ste. Marie, 12-9, in large part due to 19-year old first baseman Chris Sturge. Sturge drove in 3 runs. The first baseman had 1 double and 1 home run for the North Stars. Earning the save was Anacleto Matos. He's now cashed in 3 of 3 save opportunities. With the victory, the North Stars upped their record to 70-50.

Thessalon used a well-timed hit by Marten Sjostrom to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the sixth inning to put the North Stars ahead, 7-6. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Sjostrom.
