Thunder Bay Sleeping Giants starter Édgar Martínez pitched a strong game against the Sudbury Meteors at Thunder Bay Grounds, leading the Sleeping Giants to victory, 4-3. Martínez, now 18-13, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 7, walking 4, and allowing 3 runs. The win elevated the Sleeping Giants to 61-55.

Thunder Bay third baseman Aramis Robles helped the Sleeping Giants go up, 4-3, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Robles hit a run-scoring single off Sudbury pitcher Jesús Castellón.

"We had a good game plan," Martínez said, "and we were able to execute it."
