|
The Aguada Arzobispos knocked off the Aguadilla Colmillos, 5-3, in Liga Betances action at Coliseo Joaquín Marín. Aguada pitcher and San Juan, Puerto Rico, native Remigio Vallez had an outstanding performance. Vallez went the distance for Aguada. He gave up 3 runs on 9 hits. Aguada is now 84-82, while Aguadilla is 71-94.
Aguada used the timely hitting of Felipe Rivera to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Arzobispos on top, 5-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll put this win in our pocket and go after the next one," said Rivera.
