The Abilene Preachers knocked off the Wichita Falls Yardmen, 7-3, in Western Association action at Yardmen Park. Abilene pitcher and Glasgow, Scotland, native Jamie Dick had an outstanding performance. The loss lowers the Wichita Falls record to 1-2.

Nicolas Laurent had a big 2-run home run for the Preachers in the top of the third inning. With Abilene leading 1-0 and a runner on 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 29-year old left-handed pitcher Anacleto Meléndez and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Preachers on top, 3-0.

"Jamie -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Preachers manager Jon Plotnick. "He was the key to us winning."
