Abilene turned a good effort from starter Orlando Figueroa into a win over the Wichita Falls Yardmen at Abilene Grounds. The final score was 3-1. Picking up the save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Herminio Sepúlveda. The loss puts Wichita Falls at 2-8.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Herminio Sepúlveda didn't flinch. With the bases loaded and Wichita Falls trailing 2-1, Sepúlveda retired Diego González to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Sepúlveda, with a wink.
