The 1913 season is off to a good start for the Hatillo Tritones. The hometown Tritones dumped the Rincon Maquinistas, 9-3, at El Palacio Dorado. Andrew Perry spearheaded the win. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Martin Crocker earned the win to go to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts in 9 innings of work.
Yann Chauvet took Rincon hurler Rob Wiggins deep in the bottom of the first. His 3-run home run put the Tritones on top, 3-0. In all, Chauvet had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 5.
"There's never a lack of effort in our clubhouse. We're willing to do the little things to get the win," Chauvet told the Hatillo Gazette.
