Alfie Byrne was a major factor in the 6-2 Rincon win over Las Marias. The Maquinistas center fielder went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. The winning pitcher was Tony Grenard. He tossed 124 pitches over 6.2 innings, allowing 2 runs on 12 hits. Elmo Tonetti sewed up the save, his 2nd.

Rincon used the bat of Freddi Hicke to get the win. The second baseman spanked a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Maquinistas ahead, 4-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it altered the outcome.

"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Byrne said after the game.

The loss drops Las Marias to 4-2.
