Yardmen Spoil Great Performance by Díaz
The Wichita Falls Yardmen overcame a pretty good performance by Lubbock center fielder Zenobio Díaz, beating the Layabouts, 6-5, at Lubbock Grounds. Díaz belted 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. Wichita Falls, now 5-8, is off to a slow start.

The Yardmen took the lead, 5-1, in the top of the third inning. Facing Lubbock hurler Nicandro González with one out, Gaspar Campusano hit a run-scoring single.

"Not the sexiest win," said Yardmen manager Lázaro Grado, "but I'll take it."
