The 5-4 Lubbock win over Abilene was due in large part to Mateo Flores. The Layabouts center fielder was 1 for 1 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Abilene drops to 5-10.

The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Lubbock trailing 4-2, Flores jumped on a fastball from 23-year old right-handed pitcher Robbie Docherty and hit a 3-run home run to right. With one swing, the Layabouts had a walk-off win.
