The Mayaguez Alfereces and Lares Gritantes obliged fans hoping for an exciting game.

Lares got a decent performance from pitcher Lonnie Walsh, but it wasn't enough to beat the Mayaguez Alfereces. Mayaguez won the Parquecito de Mayagüez contest, 6-5. Walsh threw 6.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Lares drops to 6-9.

With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Carmelo Mancilla had a game-changing hit. The Alfereces catcher slammed a run-scoring single off Ladislao Utset, making the score 6-4, Mayaguez.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Mancilla said after the game.
