The San Sebastian Husares firmly defeated the Quebradillas Escondidos, 14-1, at Parquecito de San Sebastián. The San Sebastian offense was lit. Prisco España, for one, had a solid game. He was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Husares. Víctor Esparza, the winner, improved to 4-1. He held the Escondidos to 1 run on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 6. Earning his 1st save for San Sebastian was Ernesto Ocañas.
In the bottom of the second, with runners on 1st and 3rd, España came to the plate. He hit a run-scoring single off Arasibo Svozil to put the Husares in the lead, 1-0.
Quebradillas manager Jack Neagle called the blowout loss "just a poor performance, period."
San Sebastian is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 6th win in 18 games.
