Mennonites Rally to Win
Steinbach pitcher Elías Martínez did his part in helping his team beat the Winnipeg Strikers, 4-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Steinbach reliever Alex Westwood picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Jean-Yves Ferrand was saddled with the loss. The defeat makes Winnipeg 3-6.

Steinbach needed the clutch hitting of Wayne Wood to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a solo home run in the top of the 13th inning to put the Mennonites on top, 3-2. For the game, Wood had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Wood.
