Ennis Powers Strikers to 7-4 Win
The Winnipeg Strikers beat the Steinbach Mennonites, 7-4, at Winnipeg Grounds. The Strikers got a fine performance from center fielder Caley Ennis, who went 3-4 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4. Ernesto Ceja earned the win for Winnipeg. He lasted 8 innings, allowing 4 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 5-1. With Winnipeg trailing 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Ennis hit a sinker from Matthew Joseph for a 3-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Strikers ahead, 5-3.
