Calgary Goes Scoreless Against Rodríguez, Gas
|
It wasn't easy but the Vancouver Gas made it look that way.
Starter Desiderio Rodríguez shut out the Calgary Chargers despite having what he later called "sub-par" stuff, and the Vancouver Gas cruised to victory, 3-0. Rodríguez allowed only 5 hits and rang up 5 strikeouts but insisted later that he did not deserve primary credit for the win.
"It didn't feel quite right today, but I got a lot of help to get through," he said. "I trusted my catcher and the guys behind me bailed me out more than once when I screwed up."
To date Rodríguez is 5-5 in 10 starts with a 3.48 ERA and has 33 strikeouts in 67.1 innings.
