The Winnipeg Strikers picked up a win at Winnipeg Grounds, knocking off the Steinbach Mennonites, 5-4. On the mound for Winnipeg was right-hander Ismael García. He played a key role in the triumph. Winnipeg is in third place in the Plains League with a record of 37-43.

Winnipeg took the lead, 5-4, on Ben Hunt's 5th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Hunt hit in the bottom of the seventh, made Steinbach pitcher Elías Martínez wince.

"We need to keep playing good baseball," Hunt told the Winnipeg Chronicle.
