Willows Fall to Rum Runners, 7-3
|
Rum Runners designated hitter Abdón Cardona left his imprint on his team's 7-3 win over the Saskatoon Willows. Cardona was 4 for 4 with 4 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Moose Jaw in the contest. Darragh Barry earned the win. Benedicto Aybar took the loss for Saskatoon. Moose Jaw now owns a record of 61-33.
The Moose Jaw win was a team effort. It included major contributions from, among others, Arnulfo Montoya. In the bottom of the first, the Moose Jaw first baseman came to bat and hit a run-scoring single. It staked his team to a 1-0 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Moose Jaw manager Orlando Mondragón.
