Preachers Lose By a Run at Lubbock
Nathan Mackay pitched a gem to lead Lubbock to victory over the Abilene Preachers, 2-1. Mackay yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 1-6. The loss makes Abilene 6-21.

Lubbock took advantage of an error in the bottom of the sixth inning. The game was tied, 0-0, when Cawthra Smith hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Layabouts in front, 1-0.

"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Mackay said.
