Lubbock starter Luis Valentín clamped down on the Wichita Falls offense, while his team sailed to victory, 12-1. Valentín got the win, improving to 6-1. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. The defeat makes Wichita Falls 24-17.

Wei-liang Cong had a big 2-run double for the Layabouts in the top of the fourth inning. With Lubbock leading 2-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a fastball from Anacleto Meléndez, who is tied for 9th in the WFBA in wins with 5, and swatted a double to left. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Layabouts ahead, 4-0.

"It kind of got out of hand on us there," said losing manager Lázaro Grado.
