The Albuquerque Dukes beat the Taos Artists, 2-1. Albuquerque pitcher and Mississauga, Canada, native Fred Mendelson led the way. Fraser Miller, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save. The second-place Dukes go to 33-28.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Dukes had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fifth, when first baseman Plácido Morales hit a run-scoring single. The single came off Rosario Negrete and made the score 2-0, Dukes. Morales was 1 for 3 with a walk.

Albuquerque manager Jim Snyder praised his team's "energy."
