Layabouts Suffer 2-1 Loss to Preachers

Pitching was the name of the game in a tight contest between the Abilene Preachers and the Lubbock Layabouts. Abilene won it, 2-1. Abilene starter Toirealach Miller was in command. The Preachers go to 19-43, putting them last in the Western Association Abilene Circuit.
Ciaran Bell, who is tied for 6th in the WFBA with a .321 batting average, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bell contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the first inning to put Abilene up, 2-0.
"You never take a win for granted in this league," said Miller.
