The Amarillo Horizons relied on a great performance from Quinto Montoya, who is tied for 6th in the WFBA in innings pitched with 142.2, to beat the Wichita Falls Yardmen, 2-1, in 11 innings at Yardmen Park. The second-place Horizons improved to 32-35.

Montoya, who has sometimes raised the ire of coaches and teammates with his famously lackadaisical work ethic, turned in a spirited effort. The hurler struck out 6 in 10 innings and gave up 1 run.

Montoya, who is tied for 6th in the WFBA in innings pitched with 142.2, moves to 6-10 on the year with 89 strikeouts.

"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Montoya.
