Pecan Kings Topple Alpinists, 7-4

Tyler and Beaumont duked it out and the Pecan Kings came out victorious.
The performance of Guillermo Pagán proved critical in helping Tyler beat Beaumont, 7-4. The Pecan Kings right fielder was 2 for 2 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Loquillo Martínez, who went 9 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 9 hits, while walking 4 and striking out 3. His record now stands at 6-11.
Dave Carrere, who leads the EFBA in home runs with 16, helped out the Tyler cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the designated hitter was 2-5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Carrere.
The Pecan Kings improved their record to 35-39 with the win over Beaumont.
