Waco Mammoths starter Luis Rojas turned in an exceptional performance against the San Marcos Cadavers at Mammoths Field, resulting in a Waco win, 5-1. Rojas picked up the win for Waco, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 9-8.

Evaristo Landeros had a big 2-run double for the Mammoths in the bottom of the first inning. With Waco leading 1-0 and runners on 2nd and 3rd, he got a sinker from 24-year old right-handed pitcher Amadeo Zúñiga and swatted a double to left. It was his 6th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mammoths ahead, 3-0.

"Winning is seldom easy in this league," said Landeros.

The first-place Mammoths improved to 44-33.
