Alpinists Earn 4-3 Home Win
|
Though the conditions were not ideal, the Beaumont Alpinists and Nacogdoches Roaches came back from a rain delay to finish their game.
The Beaumont Alpinists picked up a win at Alpinists Field, downing the Nacogdoches Roaches, 4-3. On the mound for Beaumont was right-hander Prudencio Ulloa, who played a pivotal role in the win. Picking up the save was 24-year old right-handed pitcher Valeriano Partida.
Braulio Oyola had a big 3-run home run for the Alpinists in the bottom of the first inning. With Beaumont leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a sinker from 28-year old right-handed pitcher Pedro Silva and swatted a home run to left. It was his 7th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Alpinists ahead, 4-0.
Beaumont manager Reginaldo Moreno commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
Beaumont has now won 4 in a row.
