Layabouts Claim 4-1 Triumph
The Lubbock Layabouts defeated the Amarillo Horizons, 4-1, in Western Association action at Horizons Park. Lubbock pitcher Séptimo Salazar had a standout performance. Salazar, now 8-16, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. Lubbock's record now stands at 48-52, placing them third in the Western Association Abilene Circuit.

Lubbock won the game in part because of Mateo Flores. The first baseman ripped a solo home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Layabouts ahead, 2-1. For the game, Flores had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We'll kick back tonight and enjoy this win," said Flores.
