Thrilling Victory Pushes Dukes Win Streak to 8
The Albuquerque Dukes downed the Taos Artists, 2-1, at Taos Grounds. Stellar pitching by Marco Antonio Santiago had a lot to do with it. The right-hander, who is tied for 10th in the WFBA with a 1.13 WHIP, handcuffed his opponent all game. By defeating Taos, the second-place Dukes improved to 59-47.

Albuquerque used the timely hitting of Mario Guzmán to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Dukes on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Guzmán said after the game.
